Dispute & Refund Policy

All contests on SideBet are 100% skill-based esports matches. Outcomes depend solely on player ability, execution, reaction time, strategy, and game knowledge. There are no random-chance mechanics, no house-banked odds, no lotteries, and no chance-based wagering of any kind under applicable United States federal and state law.

SideBet is a neutral escrow and result-verification service between two players. The platform never takes a position in a match and never wagers against a user. Entry amounts are held in escrow and released to the winning player based on verified match results, less the disclosed platform service fee.

Users are responsible for ensuring skill-based competition with entry fees is permitted in their jurisdiction. Access is restricted where prohibited.

• Unaccepted open challenges (30 minutes): If nobody accepts an open challenge within 30 minutes of posting, the match is automatically voided and 100% of the host's entry is refunded to their wallet balance.
• No-show voids (10 minutes): If neither player checks into the private match room within 10 minutes of acceptance, the match is automatically voided and 100% of the entry is refunded to both players.
• Mutual cancellation: When both players request a cancellation, the refund is processed immediately and both players receive 100% of their entry back with zero fees deducted.
• Active matches are non-refundable: Once a match is in progress with escrow locked and both players checked in, entries are non-refundable. The match must be completed, mutually cancelled, or resolved through the dispute process below.

All automatic refunds post to your in-app wallet balance instantly and appear in your wallet activity ledger.

Match results require score proof. The reporting player submits a screenshot or in-game scoreboard capture from the completed match.

• When proof is submitted, the opponent has a strict 15-minute window to confirm or dispute the reported result.
• If the opponent confirms, the match settles immediately and the prize is credited to the winner.
• If no response is submitted within 15 minutes, the system automatically awards the match win and the full prize payout to the reporting player. No further action or admin approval is required.
• If the opponent disputes with conflicting proof, the match is escalated for staff review and escrow stays locked until a resolution is issued. Fraudulent proof, cheating, or falsified reports may result in forfeiture of the entry and account termination.

Settlement decisions issued after the automated window or staff review are final.

Optional monthly membership passes are recurring subscriptions that renew automatically every 30 days at the price shown at purchase until cancelled.

• You can cancel anytime in Account Settings to prevent future charges.
• Cancellation stops future renewals only — your membership benefits remain active through the end of the current billing cycle.
• Partial billing periods are not prorated, and membership fees are separate from match entries and are non-refundable once a billing cycle has begun, except where required by law or by the app store that processed the payment.
